About Me

I am a 6th year student in Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh, Cork City. I am preparing for my Leaving Certificate exams, which I will sit in the summer of 2017. I am studying the three compulsory subjects of English, Gaeilge (Irish language) and Mathematics and my four electives are Physics, Chemistry, Economics and German.

I am a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS) and a member of the Astronomical Science Group of Ireland. Holding these memberships provides me with a platform to network with professional researchers. I have attended and presented research posters at both RAS and ASGI meetings.

I also like to write about my work, and I have had an article published in astrobites as well as several articles in the Young Scientists Journal.

Outside of scientific interests, I enjoy debating, scuba diving and listening to rock music. I also play golf occasionally. In addition, I speak Irish fluently and speak conversational German and French.

Earlier this year, I was selected to form part of the Irish delegation to the European Student Parliament which was held in Manchester as a part of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) 2016.
