Dry June

Armagh Observatory reports that the weather in June was somewhat drier than normal, but otherwise fairly average.

Rainfall amounted to 44.0 mm (1.73 inches), that is, about 70% below average.

The number of hours of sunshine was 163.6, more or less average for June.

The mean monthly temperature was 13.8 degrees Celsius (56.8 degrees Fahrenheit), again about average for the month. The maximum temperature recorded was 23.5 degrees C on 1st. There was one night with a slight ground frost (5th).

These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
