August Weather Rather Average

Armagh Observatory reports that the weather in August was somewhat wetter than average but otherwise fairly typical for the month.

Rainfall amounted to 109.8 mm (4.32 inches), that is, about one third more than the monthly average, with 27.1 mm falling on 11th.

The number of hours of sunshine was 121.2, that is, slightly under the average.

The mean monthly temperature was 15.2 degrees Celsius (59.4 degrees Fahrenheit), which is about average for August. The maximum temperature recorded was 22.9 degrees on 3rd and 24th.

These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
