Armagh Observatory reports that the weather in May was much wetter, sunnier and slightly warmer than average. ![]()
Humid May
Rainfall amounted to 95.7 mm, about two-thirds more than the average for May.
There were 4 nights with a ground frost. However, the mean monthly temperature was 11.3 degrees Celsius (52.3 degrees Fahrenheit), a little higher than the average figure of 10.9 degrees C.
The total sunshine for the month was 179.2 hours, that is, about 10% more than the average value.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
