Subject: Lectures, IAA observing/stardome events, ASGI

Hi all,

Busy April continues with:

1. Wednesday 13th, 7.30 p.m. IAA public lecture, by Neil Bone (BAA, and 
'Astronomy Now') on "Meteors". Lecture Room 5, Stranmillis College, Stranmillis 
Road, Belfast. Admission free, including light refreshments.

2. Thur, 14th, 6.30pm, Burke Theatre, TCD, Prof. Malcolm Longair, Director, 
Cavendish Laboratory on 'The Big Bang and its Aftermath'.

3. Fri 15th. IAA "Spring Moon & Planets" event, WWT, Castle Espie, near 
Comber, Co Down. 7.30 for 8 p.m. Observing the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, etc, with a 
variety of telescopes if clear, plus a mobile planetarium, talks, exhibition, 
meteorites, etc: something for everyone. Normal admission charge. We almost 
always get at least some clear sky at this event!

4. Sat 16th, IAA "Spring Moon & Planets" event, Carnfunnock Country Park, 
Drains Bay, N of Larne, Co Antrim. 7.30 for 8 p.m. Observing the Moon, Saturn, 
Jupiter, etc, with a variety of telescopes if clear, plus a mobile planetarium, 
talks, exhibition, meteorites, etc: something for everyone. We have a very 
good observing record at this event too! Normal admission charge.

5. Wed, 20th, 6.30pm, Burke Theatre, TCD: Time Event - Exploration of the 
Idea of Time, Cosmology & Literature. Speakers: John Banville, Brendan Kennelly 
and John Barrow
