Subject: 2005 Special Relativity Centenary
Hi all,
I presume that you all are at least vaguely aware that 2005 is the centenary
of the publication of Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity!
Are there any plans to mark the occasion? I'm not sure of the exact date of
publication, but I believe it was sometime in the autumn.
I know that it's not specifically astronomical, but it's certainly relevant,
and it also has a wide degree of public awareness, if not understanding!
Is it too early to start thinking about some sort of public lectures, or even
a relatively special autumn ASGI meeting?
