Subject: Total Lunar Eclipse!
Hi all,
On 4 May 2004 the Irish Astronomical Association will be having a "TOTAL
ECLIPSE OF THE MOON WATCH" at Carnfunnock Country Park, Drains Bay, Larne.
See the Totally Eclipsed Moon rising out of the Irish Sea with telescopes and
binoculars! Also a Mobile Planetarium, etc, so come along even if it's
cloudy. 8.30 p.m., Carnfunnock Country Park, Drains Bay, on the A2 just North of
Larne, Co. Antrim. We'll also observe Venus, Jupiter & Saturn, if it's clear.
There will also be talks on astronomy and spaceflight; observing the sky, and
special shows in a mobile planetarium, and you can meet Derek Heatly, our own
'Ulsternaut' who has experienced zero-g flights just like the Cosmonauts do
in training, and flown to the edge of space, so come along even if it's cloudy.
Everyone will be very welcome.
Clear Skies,
Terry Moseley
